Anti Corruption in Africa

The government of the Republic of South Africa (RSA), the African Union Commission (AUC) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) will be co-hosting the Africa Forum on Fighting Corruption (AFFC). The Africa Forum on Fighting Corruption has been scheduled for 28 February 2007 to 02 March 2007 in Gauteng, South Africa.

The AFFC is a precursor to the Global Forum V. The main objective of the AFFC is the consolidation of African anti-corruption initiatives. There is recognition throughout the continent that corruption poses many challenges for African societies. It is expected that about 300 participants from all the regions of Africa, comprising of Ministers, Parliamentarians, Anti-Corruption Agencies, Civil society, RECs, former Heads of States and International organizations including donors will attend the Africa Forum. The overarching theme for the Africa Forum is "Towards a common understanding of corruption".
